Job Description:

This is a Remote Position.

The Software Architecture function takes abstract ideas and builds real products from scratch.  The SA leads small product development teams, working directly with product owners, defining and delivering new commercial software systems.  The SA will mentor and coach other engineers as they carry out development, ensuring they are provided with clear architectural guidance.  The SA owns and drives the technology strategy for the CTCA a Health commercial business and collaborates across the other verticals.

Job Responsibilities

Develop technically superior software architecture for CTCA Health

  • Help teams make sound technical decisions grounded in data
  • Put in place processes (e.g., peer code reviews, coding standards, etc.) that ensure that high quality software is consistently produced
  • Select and ensure adoption of best in class developer tools
  • Design and maintain extendable software systems and own the architecture

Mentor Stakeholders

  • An encourager that mentors developers and prioritizes their assignments
  • High achiever that ensures all work meets the design requirements, adheres to style guidelines, and standard methodologies
  • Thrives on brainstorming with other technical leaders to design, modify or extend software systems

Lead Projects

  • Design forward looking architecture and implement software systems
  • Establish innovative and creative technology environment
  • Strive to raise everybody’s game, including your own

Maintain knowledge of modern software development techniques in a healthcare environment. Topics include:

  • DevOps/Containers, CI/CD
  • Secure computing (working with PHI)
  • Cloud computing
  • Serverless computing
  • Algorithms, data structures, distributed systems
  • Big data

Skills, Education and Additional Information

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering or at least ten years working as a professional software developer is required.
  • Master’s degree and / or MBA is desirable.
  • 12 years of experience of hands on software product development on a variety of platforms
  • Expert-level knowledge of DevOps practices
  • Ability to design, document, and communicate product architectures
  • Strong background in algorithms, data structures, operating systems, distributed computing
  • 5+ Experience with cloud (AWS or Azure)
  • 5+ years working in healthcare, working with PHI
  • 10+ years working with software languages, Java/C#/.Net
