Job Overview

The Business Partner, Talent role contributes to the performance of Health Pay by providing tactical and strategic consulting on talent and organization development strategies in support of business objectives.

In partnership with hiring leaders, senior leadership and Talent leadership, this position will provide support to ensure effective delivery of services to Health Pay partners. This position acts as the primary point of contact for leaders on a variety of topics within their assigned area(s) of responsibility. The individual will assess, evaluate, and fully understand the human capital and talent requirements of the organization, as well as manage the assessment of issues, implementation of programs, and evaluation of outcomes.

This position performs Talent-related duties at the professional level while supporting more than one functional group. The individual will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations consultation; policy interpretation and application, performance and compensation management consultation, and talent management consultation. This role is also designed to grow into carrying out additional responsibilities that include organizational design, employee development initiatives and training. This role will carry out other duties as needed/assigned.

Job Responsibilities

45%| Talent Management

Oversee the new position request process to ensure that labor requests are in line with job architecture and compensation guidelines. Manage and process ADP WFN job change requests as it relates to promotions, transfers, compensation changes, manager/timekeeper changes, etc. Effectively facilitate development of managers and Stakeholders through coaching on policy interpretation. Lead and/or support annual Talent cycle deliverables to include the Performance Management process as it’s built out - goal setting, mid-year review, year-end review, etc. Manage the training and deployment of Performance Management for assigned work groups. Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with Talent peers to develop solutions, programs, and practices. Manage the H-1B process to include any RFEs received. Oversee the new hire process to ensure that leaders are compliant and new hires are onboarded according to plan. Complete exit interviews and oversee the voluntary termination process, to include processing.

25%| Stakeholder and Employee Relations

Provide day to day support and coaching to Health Pay leaders on Employee Relations to include interpretation and application of Health Pay and CTCA policies and practices, government regulations, and accepted business practices. Ensure training and orientation are provided to managers, supervisors, and Stakeholders on appropriate talent related policies and procedures. Coach leaders in performance improvement and disciplinary actions, as necessary. Facilitate the communication and administration of Stakeholder surveys as needed. Partner with Payroll, HRIS, Compensation and Benefits functions as needed to provide solutions for internal customers. Support involuntary terminations to include processing.

25%| Talent Strategy

Understand key business issues and their connectivity to broader Talent initiatives and activities. Act as a liaison between business leaders and collaborate with other Talent resources that can support needs or issue resolution. Partner with leadership to implement Talent strategy. Act as "boots on the ground" to ensure alignment of Talent initiatives with departmental objectives. 

5%| Leave of Absences

Administer FMLA and STD to all Health Pay Stakeholders. Act as the Liaison between Health Pay and UNUM working closely to monitor FMLA/STD.

Skills, Education, and Additional Information

  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of HR experience in generalist, talent acquisition, employee relations, or training and development experience required.
  • PHR certification preferred.
  • Healthcare industry experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Proven ability to effectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues.
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to set high personal goals and work independently.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Manages time, projects, and workflow to meet expectations of supervisor
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft programs.
